First launch needs one extra step
Bokeh is not yet signed with an Apple Developer certificate, so macOS blocks it the first time. Here is how to get past it — it takes about twenty seconds.
- Unzip the download, open the .dmg, and drag Bokeh to your Applications folder.
- Open Bokeh. macOS will say it “cannot verify the developer” — that is expected, and you can close the dialog.
- Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, and click Open Anyway next to Bokeh.
- Open Bokeh once more and click Open. macOS remembers it from then on.

Does Bokeh upload my video?
No. Detection and blurring run on your Mac, and your footage never leaves it. There is no account, no cloud, and no upload step.
What do I get when I buy?
A download link for the Mac app, straight after checkout. It is the full version with no limits, and updates are free during the beta.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. The free trial is the same app, with a small watermark on exports until you enter a license key. Run it on your own footage first, then buy only if it handles your clips.
macOS says it cannot verify the developer. Is that a problem?
No, and it is expected. Bokeh is not signed with an Apple Developer certificate yet, so macOS blocks the first launch. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, then click Open Anyway next to Bokeh. You only do this once.
Does it blur faces too?
Yes. Bokeh detects and blurs both license plates and faces, so you can publish footage with bystanders in frame.
What if it misses something?
You see every detection before you export, so you can catch a miss rather than discover it after you publish. Detection is good, not perfect — that is exactly why the review step exists.
